Privacy Policy

This policy covers the details you give us through the request form on this site: what the form asks, why, who sees it, and how long it is kept. It describes how this site actually works and nothing more.

What the form collects

The form starts with six short multiple choice questions: what you are dealing with, which part of Nassau County the house is in, the lowest level of the house, where the problem is showing, how long it has been going on, and what you would like to happen next. It then asks for your name, a phone number, an email address, the street address of the property, its city, its state and its ZIP code, and gives you a box to describe anything else in your own words.

The form will not send without five things: your name, a valid US phone number, your email address, the property address and its ZIP code. The multiple choice questions and the message box are optional.

The form also contains a field that people cannot see. Automated scripts tend to fill it in, and a submission that arrives with it filled is discarded without being read.

Why those five are required

Your name and phone number let the contractor we book reach you about the job. Your email address gives you a written record of what was arranged, and a second way to reach you if a digit in the phone number is wrong. The ZIP code routes the request: contractors work particular parts of the county, and a request without a ZIP code cannot be matched to any of them.

The property address

A mold job belongs to a building, so we ask which one. The ZIP code narrows the request to an area and the street line identifies the house, which lets the contractor plan the visit and understand the property before arriving.

The address is stored and shared on the same terms as the rest of your request, and it is never written into our system logs. Where a log records that a submission arrived, it notes only whether an address was supplied. A street line beside a ZIP code identifies a household, so we do not keep even part of one anywhere it is not needed.

Your quiz answers

Your multiple choice answers travel with the request as readable text, each question beside the answer you picked, so the person reading it can see at once whether the damp is on a slab floor, low on a basement wall or in a ceiling. They describe the house and the problem and are not used to profile you.

How you reached the site

When you arrive, your browser records a few details about the visit: any utm source, medium, campaign, content or term tags on the link you followed, the website that sent you, the first page you opened and any advertising click identifier in the address. Only your first arrival in a visit is kept, so moving between pages does not overwrite it. It is held in your browser's session storage while the tab is open, sent with your request if you submit one, and discarded if you do not. We use it to see which pages lead to requests. The form also carries a marker showing which standing offer was displayed to you, so the credit can be recorded against your request.

What to leave out

Please do not send medical information about anyone in the household. We book building trades, and what a contractor needs is a description of the building and the water. If you have a health concern, a doctor is the right person to ask. We also do not ask for insurance policy numbers or claim references. Anything like that typed into the message box is handled the same way as the rest of the message and used for nothing else.

Where your request goes

Your request is sent from this site to GoHighLevel, the customer relationship management service we use. It is saved there as a contact, with your message and your quiz answers attached and this site's domain recorded as the source. That is the only place it is sent. No copy is emailed anywhere and no lead marketplace receives it. If GoHighLevel does not accept the request, the page you see tells you it did not go through rather than thanking you.

From there we pass your details to the licensed contractor or contractors we book for your job. Often that is more than one company: New York does not allow one licensee to carry out both the mold assessment and the mold remediation on the same property, so the assessor and the remediator are separate firms, and a plumber or a drying crew may be a third. Each receives what it needs for its own part. We do not sell your details, rent them out or add you to any marketing list unrelated to your request.

Landlords, managing agents and boards

If you rent, or live in a co-op or a condominium, we do not contact your landlord, managing agent or board unless you ask us to. If you want a report sent to them, tell us, and otherwise nothing goes to them from us.

Cookies, analytics and fonts

This site is made of static pages. It runs no analytics service, sets no advertising cookies and loads no third party tracking tags. The only thing it keeps in your browser is the visit information described above, in session storage, which is cleared when the tab closes. Pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so opening a page sends a request to Google's font servers, and our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs of page requests. If a measurement tag is ever added, this section will be updated at the same time.

How long we keep it

We keep your request for as long as it is useful for the job you asked about and anything that follows from it, and then delete it. Ask us and we will delete it sooner. A contractor we book keeps its own records under its own terms, so deletion on our side does not reach theirs, and you should ask them too. A written mold assessment belongs to you once the assessor hands it over, and if you share it with a buyer, a lender or an insurer, it is outside our control.

Your choices

You can ask to see what we hold about you, to have it corrected or to have it deleted. You can also tell any contractor we have booked that you want no further contact, and that stands whatever you have told us.
